On the 29th June Stuart McGregor, Kiran Choudrie, Ian Kettles and Estian Schoonraad (the ‘Fore RBC Divots’) will be taking part in the ultimate charity golfing challenge – playing 100 holes in the ‘Longest Day Golf Challenge’. Whilst this might sound like just another ‘walk in the park’, this will involve a 4.15am start and likely a finish well into the evening darkness around 10pm. Over the ‘course’ of the day, we’re expecting to cover 5.5 rounds, 55 km and 70,000 steps – all in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Macmillan is a charity close to all our hearts, providing services for people living with cancer at every stage of their cancer experience. Macmillan were extremely supportive to Stu’s mum in the final months of her battle, as they were with Kiran’s mother who had terminal colon cancer. For Estian’s father, Macmillan were a regular source of information and comfort during his battle with bowel cancer. Ian’s grandparent was also a beneficiary of their amazing care through lung cancer. Read less
