Any donations that haven’t been raised directly through the official Longest Day Golf fundraising page or JustGiving may not show on the leaderboard or individual fundraising pages but will still count towards the overall competition total.
On the 16th of June I, alongside 3 incredibly supportive friends and bang average golfers, will be participating in the Longest Day Golf Challenge at Redlibbets Golf Club. This will consist of us completing 4 rounds of golf, taking approximately 16 hours from start to finish and covering a combined distance of over 105,000 yards (96km). Our golf experience in the team is varied with myself and Ryan having played for over 10 years, whilst Jacob and Harry having only started playing last year. I decided to put a team together for this event because over the past few years my family has been directly affected by cancer. In 2019 my granddad passed away from a cancer related illness, in the same year my dad was diagnosed with cancer and just a few months after getting the all-clear in 2021, the same happened to my mum. If it wasn’t for all of the generous donations that MacMillan receives from the public to develop and research new medicines and treatments, my parents and so many others would not be able to beat cancer and continue to embrace the life they’ve been blessed with. We would really appreciate any donation you're able to make for this fantastic charity and if you wish to visit Redlibbets and support us on the day that would be amazing. Thank you. Read less
