Five years ago, our world changed overnight when my wife was diagnosed with Stage 4 HER2+ cancer. Since then, every year for The Longest Day, a team of us has come together to turn that fight into something positive (or ridiculous) — raising as much money as possible for Macmillan Cancer Support. And somehow, together we’ve now raised over £20,000 with our stupid ways. This year, like the bigger and more ridiculous film sequels, we’re going even further. We are staging a two-day Ryder Cup-style challenge: 108 holes in 36 hours. 14 merry men. Team Larne vs Team Matt. A classic match-play battle with tired legs, questionable golf, stupid outfits, big laughs, and one very important cause. A huge shout-out to the players taking part: Team Larne: Larne, Ben, Chris T, Chris Y, Trevor, Colin, Jason, Nick Team Matt: Matt P, Will, Petley, James, JPG, Suraj Every one of us has been impacted by cancer in some way, whether personally or through someone we love. This challenge is about raising money, spreading awareness, and reminding anyone going through cancer that they do not have to face it alone.
